Homemade Laundry Detergent Tutorial and Price Breakdown

Do you know that if you wash two loads of laundry a day for a year with the homemade detergent instead of Tide you will save $65.70?

It cost me $18.30 OOP {out of pocket} to purchase the supplies for my first batch of Homemade Laundry Detergent. However, I had some supplies left over. So really, I paid $15.67 for 161 loads. Which is approximately $0.09 per load. Compare that to Tide at $0.18 a load. Pretty awesome, huh?

To top it off... this stuff actually works; my clothes come out smelling great and very clean.

    I'm pretty sure my Aunt said she uses it in hers. Let me ask her to be sure. I'll let you know soon.

    I've made & used both the liquid and the dry. I love the powdered version because it's much easier to make. I took a break from making these and bought cheap for awhile, but none were as frugal as the homemade! So today I bought the ingredients to make the powdered again. I love the smell! (I also have used Pink Zote bars and they gave a nice pretty-pink detergent). Happy Detergent-making! :) -Tammy
