I know it is a little late in the season to be posting this, but you can always use it next year. Many thanks to my Sister-in-Law Melanie for sharing her photos with us!
First you will want to get yourself some beans.
String and break the beans.
When you break the bean there is no correct size. Just whatever length you want to snap them. My Mom snaps hers about 3/4 an inch in size, but as you can see, Melanie snaps hers longer. Either way works.
In case you don't know how to string them, you just take the tip and snap it off, then pull the string down the length of the bean and toss it. Do both ends. Now just give your beans a good rinse.
Put some water in a cooker and get it started boiling.
Pour your beans into the boiling water.
After about two minutes, take them back out.
Now spread them out on a towel to cool a little.
Once they have cooled enough for you to handle them, put them into freezer bags. Whatever size you think would be enough for a meal for your family is what size to use.
Press the air out of the bag, and freeze.
That's it. Enjoy!
