Homeschool: 6th Grade Reading Log

This year, I homeschooled both Bailey and Dalton. All of our read alouds were done as a group. Bailey was in 6th grade and Dalton was in 2nd.

 We read aloud ...

Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder

Little House on the Prarie by Laura Ingalls Wilder

Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder

When Santa Fell to Earth by Cornelia Funk

Sarah Plain and Tall by Patricia Maclachan

 Skylark by Patricia Maclachan

 Peter Pan by Lisa Mullarkey

The Tale of Despereaux by Kate Dicamillo (read this summer).

The boys enjoyed them all except Farmer Boy. I never thought we would get through that book.

I could never name all the books they read on there own as Free Reading.

Dalton read "readers" so he had a different little book everyday and sometimes 3 or 4.

I'll attempt to list a few of the ones that Bailey read on his own during Free Reading...

George's Secret Key to the Universe by Lucy & Stephen Hawking

George's Cosmic Treasure Hunt by Lucy & Stephen Hawking

George and the Big Bang by Lucy & Stephen Hawking

He really loved those!

He read a dozen or more of the Horrid Henry Books by Francesca Simon; and about the same amount or more of the Bailey School Kids books by Marcia T. Jones and Debbie Dadey. A couple of the Magic Tree House books by Mary Pope Osborne.

 Spaceheadz by Jon Scieszka

Vordak the Incomprehensible: Rule the School

Vordak the Incomprehensible: How to Grow Up and Rule the World

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel by Jeff Kinney

The Unusual Mind of Vincent Shadow by Tim Kehoe

 Super Fudge by Judy Blume

Henry and the Paper Route by Beverly Cleary

and even a few Junie B. Jones books.

That is all I have listed in my notes. I know he read more on his own time, but I didn't keep up with those.

Hope this helps someone out! :)
