{The Recipe with Changes I Made}

Servings: 12

Ingredients:
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
2/3 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Heat small amount of oil in the bottom of your castiron skillet to make the bottom crispy.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, and sugar. Stir in egg, milk and vegetable oil until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pan.
3. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
I made this cornbread with supper this afternoon and wow! It is really good. I made a large castiron skillet full and there was no leftovers at all. They were like vulchers on that stuff. Even the kids.
